This is the real thing — a factory 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible, finished in its original Acapulco Blue over Black Décor Bucket Seats, and backed by strong documentation including a Deluxe Marti Report. One of just 231 cars painted this color and 1 of 893 with a white power convertible top, this rare GT500 was delivered new to Warren Anderson Ford in Riverside, California, where it remained a rust-free West Coast car its entire life. Today, it shows just 41,244 actual miles, retaining its original charm while being subtly upgraded with tasteful performance enhancements.

Under the hood, the original 428 Cobra Jet has been massaged with a high-performance cam and lifters, aluminum cylinder heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and a Holley double pumper carburetor. Supporting upgrades include a Be-Cool aluminum radiator with electric fans, custom headers and exhaust, Edelbrock aluminum water pump, MSD-style ignition, and aluminum pulleys. The engine bay is dressed with custom-painted Shelby valve covers and oil pan, capped with a chrome export brace for good measure. The original engine parts — including factory cylinder heads, Police Interceptor intake, and A/C components — are preserved and included with the sale.

In August of 2024, the car underwent a $12,000 paint protection and window tint film treatment by a top-tier finishing company in New Albany, Ohio, preserving the Acapulco Blue finish with a show-quality gloss and long-term protection. Backed by factory features like power steering, power front disc brakes, AM radio, tachometer, trip odometer, and the Interior Décor and Visibility Groups, this GT500 is equal parts original pedigree and refined performance.
